Before everyone starts asking about what happened to the OnePlus 4, we’re all going to be asking what the Chinese OEM is going to offer in order to top its latest flagship, the OnePlus 3T. The company is known for coining the phrase “Flagship killer” and has stayed true to the title since the OnePlus 1. They’ve got quite the task ahead of them, as other companies have adopted this philosophy and launched sub $400 phones with the latest specs on board. A fresh leak of the OnePlus’s upcoming handset lets us know at least one thing about their plans.
The leak shows us that the next OnePlus device could sport a duel lens setup. This is something that’s catching on to a lot of OEM’s. What’s next to wonder is: what will the secondary lens be used for? Huawei uses a secondary black and white camera to help with depth information, LG uses a wide angle lens for some insane wide view shots, and Apple uses its secondary lens for a 2x optical zoom. OnePlus will either have to emulate one of those companies, or somehow give us something completely new; hopefully it’s the latter. Other details about the leak point to a familiar looking device. It has the same shape as the OnePlus 3T and looks to be made of a textured metal. The back has subtle curved edges and the antenna lines are well hidden (the one on the bottom is just barely visible). What do you all think? What would you want to see OnePlus do with its secondary camera? Let me know in the Comments below.
