Many of us have cravings for classic cartoons every now and then (myself included). Luckily for us, there’s an app in the works with folks like us in mind. Boomerang is working on an official Boomerang app. For those who don’t know, Boomerang is the service under Cartoon Network which is primarily based around airing classic cartoons; the likes of Looney Tunes, Scooby-Doo, The Flintstones and much more. It existed first as a segment on Cartoon Network, then as its own channel. Now, it’s bringing on its own streaming service, putting those classic cartoons at your fingertips.
Those of you who are a fans of cartoons from those humble time periods, should definitely give the app a shot. There are, however, a few things to note. First off, it is an early access app, meaning that it is still technically under development. You can still download it and use it, but beware of bugs and crashes. It works very well in my experience so far. Secondly, there is a subscription required for viewing shows. It’s $4.99 a month if you choose to pay monthly, or a lump sum of $39.99 for an annual pass. These are not bad prices at all, and there’s a seven day free trial for the monthly payments, and a thrity day free trial for the annual pass. As for content, it’s easy to see that they are still in the process of adding shows. There’s definitely enough to wet the whistle of any nostalgic cartoon goer, but there’s room for more shows to be added, so a little patience will do you good. Feel free to to download it and leave the developer feedback.
