LG’s event at Mobile World Congress is still just over a week away, but we’ve got our hands on a fresh new look at the device thanks to some shots acquired by 9to5Google.
These pictures confirm mostly what were already gathered about the G6. It’s going to have a nearly bezel less display, and an 18:9 aspect ratio. By the looks of the of the image showing the back of the device, it looks like LG has gotten rid of the one thing that really made them stand out, the removable battery. I’m a little sad to see it go, but in its place the device will reportedly have a decent sized 3,200 mAh battery. The brushed metal design looks nice, but it’s not something we haven’t seen before. However a more unique looking glossy backed version of the device did leak earlier this month, take a look.
Based on the picture with the brushed metal G6, on the bottom we can see the microphone on the right, the USB Type-C charging port in the center, and what looks to be a microphone on the left. The leaves me to believe that the headphone jack is up top along with a second microphone and an IR blaster. Moving up to the back of the device, we can see a dual camera array with the LED flash, as well as the power button/fingerprint scanner directly below it. It also looks like LG is sticking with last year’s design in terms of button placement. The rest of the specs include the Snapdragon 821, 32 GB of storage, 4 GB of RAM, and a 5.7-inch QHD IPS LCD display.
If LG markets this device well enough it could be the hit that LG needs to gain an edge over Samsung, but we’ll just have to wait and see.
