Alcatel 4s Pro spotted in Geekbench with flagship specs running Android 7.0

If it isn’t an “S” model of a device coming out, then it’s a “Plus” model, and if it’s neither of those, then it’s a “Pro” model. Modern smartphone technology is no stranger to additional models of certain devices. It gives the users something that the original model doesn’t. This is what the Chinese OEM, Alcatel has on its mind, as a “Pro” model of its Idol 4 was sighted in Geekbench. The Idol 4 was released this year, but what made more headlines was its more fleshed out sibling, the Idol 4s. This phone was more on the mind because it went up against flagship busters such as the OnePlus 3 and the ZTE Axon 7. It was a compelling device, but lacked a bit in the performance department by bringing a more mid-ranged Snapdragon 652 SoC, rather than the 820. The Pro seems to be a way of picking up that slack.

This model will be sporting the 820 along with the Adreno 530 GPU. It’s also slated to be running Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box, which is a major plus. It’s these two facts that jump out at us, but everything else about this phone is on par at best. The display is will be a 5.5 inch, full HD display (1080 x 1920), whether it’s AMOLED or LCD is not specified. This is a jump down from the 2K display of the Idol 4s, but still commendable. It’ll come with 4 GB’s of RAM but will be sporting 16 GB’s of storage. YIKES! Other specs include a 20 megapixel rear camera that can record in 4K, coupled with a 7 megapixel front facing camera.

Hopefully this will help push Alcatel among the top premium mid-ranged OEM’s like ZTE, OnePlus and Honor. The 4s was still a nice device, but the slew of devices running the Snapdragon 820 made it take a back seat. Other details about the Idol 4 Pro will trickle in, so we’ll be hearing more about this device. Let’s hope it’s a hot one.
